Discover the new Zoho Projects: faster, more intuitive and fully customizable
It’s time to unveil version 8 of Zoho Projects, because it comes with major changes!
This year, we focused on shortening the learning curve and making the tool easier to use, so that new Projects users can get started quickly and existing users can enjoy a much more intuitive and powerful user interface.
To do this, we’re introducing the sheet view — an editable sheet for all your project information. With easy editing and navigation, contextual UI enhancements and an equally powerful mobile app, we promise there’s a lot to love!
1. Power user experience
You can now build entire projects using just your keyboard! All list views, such as projects, milestones, tasks and issues, along with their respective detail pages, can be navigated with the keyboard.
You can move quickly between the rows and columns of a sheet with the arrow keys, and quickly add or edit project information without opening each detail page. You can also organize projects better by moving subtasks across tasks, and tasks across task lists and milestones.

2. Gantt, wherever you want it
As we said, this release is all about convenience and what works best for you. You can now access your Gantt charts directly in the sheet view instead of navigating to reports, and also bulk update work items from the Gantt.
Whether you manage mini-projects lasting a few weeks or large-scale projects spanning several years, Zoho Projects can help: view your Gantt by day, week, month or year, depending on your project timeline.

3. Customization at every level
Custom fields — Create custom fields directly from the sheet view to meet the specific requirements of your project or work. You can add these fields using the customization icon in the top-right corner of the screen.

Project templates — You also get access to more than 20 industry-specific project templates to help you plan your projects and work faster. Whether you’re in construction or marketing, we have a ready-to-use template or two for you!

4. Automate, your way
Just like custom fields, automation is also built into the sheet view, so you no longer need to navigate to setup. Create workflow rules for projects, tasks or issues directly from the sheet and empower your teams to do their best work yet.

5. Contextual UI enhancements
Kanban — Inline editing has also come to your Kanban boards, so you can now edit project information, bulk update work items or even add comments and attachments directly from the board.

Context menu — Right-clicking in any module, whether the sheet view, Gantt or Kanban, opens a context menu that gives you quick access to relevant actions, like the color wheel for a task on the Gantt chart or the clone option for tasks on the Kanban board.

6. A consistent UI across all platforms
With the sheet view now available on phones and tablets, you can enjoy a consistent user experience across all platforms. We’ve also improved the timesheet view, enabled dashboards and project teams on mobile, and added the Calendar module for Android.

And that’s not all! We’ve added many other enhancements in line with our theme of familiarity and convenience, such as a project detail page on web and mobile, similar to the existing task and issue detail pages.
