Zoho Desk makes Zia’s AI more accessible to support teams

Introduction

For many SMBs, customer service relies on a small team that has to respond quickly, accurately and often with little room to maneuver. Every email, form, chat or ticket matters, but the volume can quickly take over.

Zoho has just announced an interesting update for support teams: as of July 7, 2026, several of Zia’s artificial intelligence features in Zoho Desk are available in more paid editions. The features include sentiment analysis, auto-tagging, Zia notifications, predictions, Answer Bot, summaries, writing assistance and reply assistance.

AI that’s more accessible, not just for large teams

Until now, some Zoho Desk AI features were mostly tied to the more advanced editions. With this announcement, Zoho is broadening access to several capabilities by edition: some features, such as core intelligence and Answer Bot, are now available from Standard up, others from Professional up, and certain generative AI features from Express up.

For a Quebec SMB, that matters. AI is no longer just a “big tech project.” It’s becoming an everyday work tool that can help sort, summarize, prioritize and better understand customer requests.

Tickets that are easier to understand and handle

In Zoho Desk, Zia can help detect the tone of a message, identify key topics, summarize a ticket or conversation thread, suggest a reply and assist with writing. For a support team, that can make a real difference.

Instead of rereading several exchanges to understand the context, a team member can get to the point faster. Instead of treating each ticket as an isolated request, the business can spot trends: unhappy customers, recurring requests, product issues, delays, frequently asked questions or points of friction.

Better service without losing the human touch

The goal isn’t to replace human relationships. For an SMB, being close to customers remains a major advantage. The value of Zia in Zoho Desk is rather to help the team make better use of its time: automate part of the analysis, structure information, prepare replies and highlight what needs quick attention.

This is especially relevant for businesses that receive requests through multiple channels or want to professionalize their customer service without weighing down their operations.

Conclusion

Expanding Zia’s AI features in Zoho Desk comes at the right time. Customer expectations are rising, teams are busy, and SMBs need simple ways to deliver fast, consistent and well-organized service.
