What’s new in Zoho Inventory | Q2 2025
The second quarter was an exciting time for Zoho Inventory! We introduced powerful new features and enhancements to help you manage your inventory operations with even more precision and control. More exciting updates are on the way, but here are the main new features worth exploring in detail. Let’s dive in!
Introducing replenishments
Keep your inventory well stocked with the new replenishments feature! It helps you maintain optimal stock levels by identifying items that need to be restocked based on your settings.
Note: Available only in the Enterprise plan.
To enable it: Go to Settings > Items > Items > Enable replenishments
Next, you’ll need to choose whether to create a purchase order or a transfer order, and schedule how often stock levels are checked.
Create a replenishment:
- Without locations: Inventory > Items > click an item > Overview tab > + Create replenishment
- With locations: Inventory > Items > click an item > gear icon > Locations/Warehouses > Configure replenishments
Once it’s set up, whenever stock drops below the reorder threshold, a notification will take you to the Pending replenishments tab. You can then create a purchase order or a transfer order. You can also go to the Replenishments module to manage everything.
Transporter updates in e-way bills
You can now add or edit transporter details directly in Zoho Inventory for e-way bills with the “Generated” and “Part A generated” statuses, without having to go to the government portal.
Access to custom modules in customer and vendor portals
Your customers and vendors can now access custom modules in their respective portals, with the permissions you configure.
Once configured, the module appears in the portal sidebar. Records can be created, edited or submitted. They then appear in Zoho Inventory under Portal – Submitted for review.
Setup: Settings > Custom modules > [Module name] > Preferences > enable portal access
Multi-level approval for inventory adjustments and transfers
Inventory adjustments and transfer orders can now go through multi-level approval. Admins can still use “Final approval” to approve directly.
The “View approval details” button shows the different stages and users involved.
Import & export enhancements
Export for composite items
Large exports (more than 25,000 records) are now asynchronous. You’ll receive a download link by email once the export is ready.
Active/inactive status for PDF templates
Mark templates as active or inactive to manage them more easily. Use the gear icon to change the status or clone a template.
Automatic transfer order numbering on import
Check a box during import to automatically generate transfer order numbers.
Bin location details in invoice exports
Exported invoices now show bin locations for better traceability.
Reporting enhancements
Shipment details report
A new report with advanced filters, grouping, export and scheduling.
Stock summary report
Export based on the current view, grouping by category, and advanced filters.
Sales summary report
A daily view of invoices and payments, with tax calculations, credit notes and net sales.
Warehouse report
New filters, customizable columns, export and custom reports.
Grouped transaction view
Available in the accounts receivable/payable reports (details and summary). Shows totals only.
Location/warehouse enhancements
Preferred bin in picklists
Add a preferred bin for each item line. It’s shown on the update screen and in the picklist PDF.
Barcode scanning in picklists
Scan items to speed up picking: batch/bin-tracked items (scan the batch, then the bin) and serialized items (any order). Prevents over-picking and lets you reset if needed.
Custom field inheritance in picklists
Picklists automatically inherit custom fields from the associated order.
Audit trail for picklists
A visible change history: who, what and when. For better traceability.
Communications & notifications
WhatsApp notifications for packages and shipments: enable WhatsApp notifications when packages/shipments are created and delivered. Send them manually or in bulk. The history is visible in the comments.
To enable: Settings > WhatsApp > Modules > Enable for packages/shipments
Transactions & payments
- Recording standalone TDS payments: post TDS payments for one or more invoices, even on a date different from the main payment.
- Applied date for credits: add an applied date for customer/vendor credits and advances. It’s included in exports.
- Associating templates with customers and vendors: set a default template for each customer/vendor. It will be applied automatically when you send documents.
Localization & time zones
Time zone support for date-based automations: choose whether an automation should follow the organization’s time zone or the customer’s. Works with Date/Time fields.
Filipino and Bahasa Melayu support: the interface is now available in Filipino and Bahasa Melayu to better serve users in the Asia-Pacific region.
Integration & automation
- More filters in the Shopify sync history: you can now filter by stock adjustments and shipments to diagnose issues more easily.
- Tax discount for Shopify orders [U.S.]: choose whether the discounted Shopify tax should be synced. If not, the tax will be noted in the comments and marked as non-taxable.
- Line-item discounts with Avalara [U.S. and Canada]: apply line-item discounts with Avalara. Taxes will be recalculated accurately based on the discounted amounts.
Customization
Dynamic lookup fields: add conditional filters to your custom lookup fields. Enable the “Show only filtered records” option.
Mobile updates
Android enhancements
Customize your PDFs (colors, templates, signatures, bank details). Other additions: units for batch/bin-tracked items, a warehouse report from the serial number screen, payment approval workflows, and assemblies & kits available in transactions.
iOS updates
Quick scan for invoices and delivery notes. Kit management on iPad in transactions.
That’s all for now! We hope these new features make your inventory management even smoother and more powerful.
